About the firm

A consultancy built for organisations that are accountable to more than one audience.

Veritas Prime advises institutions, corporates, public bodies and leaders operating at the intersection of policy, public opinion and commercial reality.

Our story

Veritas Prime was founded on a straightforward observation: in Nigeria and across emerging markets, the decisions that most affect an organisation are increasingly made in public — in regulation, in parliamentary scrutiny, in media coverage and in the judgement of communities and investors.

Yet the advisory available to organisations facing those decisions has too often been transactional: access brokered, press releases issued, crises managed after the fact. That approach produces activity rather than standing, and it fails at exactly the moment it is tested.

We built a different practice. One that begins with evidence, treats reputation as a governance responsibility rather than a marketing function, and gives clients counsel that holds up in a boardroom, a committee hearing and a newsroom alike.

Our work spans public affairs and government relations, reputation and crisis management, strategic communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement, executive positioning, political and policy advisory, and training. Clients come to us from regulated and public-facing sectors — energy, financial services, health, infrastructure, development and government — and increasingly from international organisations seeking counsel with genuine local depth.

Philosophy

What we believe about reputation and public trust.

Trust is earned in advance

The institutions that survive scrutiny built their credibility before they needed it. Reputation work done only in a crisis is remediation, not strategy.

Communication cannot rescue a bad decision

Where the underlying conduct is the problem, we say so. Our value is in improving the decision, not decorating it.

Advocacy must serve a public interest

A position that cannot be defended in public should not be advanced in private. That discipline protects clients as much as it protects institutions.

Discretion is a professional obligation

We do not trade on client names. The most consequential mandates are the ones you will never read about.

Mission

To give organisations counsel that strengthens their standing with the public, the state and the institutions that hold them to account.

Vision

To be the consultancy that serious institutions in Africa turn to when the stakes are reputational, regulatory or both.

Method

Diagnose honestly. Build the evidence. Engage continuously. Measure against the decision, not the coverage.

Discuss an engagement in confidence

Tell us what you are facing. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right firm for it, and what a first phase would look like.
